How to

Get Involved at St. Peter's

Our mission at St. Peter's is "to gather people of all ages to discover, grow, and share their relationship with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” Participation in the various ministries here at St. Peter's is how we feel that we can best accomplish this mission. There is something here for everyone who wants to be involved in Christ's ongoing ministry in the Kingston and Loyalist area.

Local Foodbank

"For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat..."
Matt. 25:35a (NASB)

Central to our belief of participation in Christ's ongoing ministry is the practice of feeding the poor and hungry. Because of this belief, we have partnered with our local Amherstview Lion's Club Food Bank in their efforts to feed the hungry in Amherstview. Every week parishioners can drop off food in our food barrel, or can donate (food or money) at one of our quarterly food drives.

Sunday School

"Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”

Matthew 19:14 (NIV)

Children are incredibly important to Jesus, and they are equally as important to us at St. Peter's. We believe that children are full and equal members of our congregation worthy of every benefit and opportunity for discipleship as any other person in our church. As such we pour into our children through our Sunday School program. If you believe that children are the future of our church and want to help them grow in Christ, this may be the ministry for you!

Winter Clothing Drive

"I was naked and you gave me clothing..."
Matt. 25:36a (NRSV)

Another form of our participation in Christ's ongoing ministry is providing warm clothing to those that are lacking any. During the season of Advent, we collect coats, hats, mitts, gloves, and scarves which get distributed to local schools and shelters to help those that do not have any, or may have lost the winter clothing they did have. No one should have to risk frostbite outdoors.

Anglican Church Women

One of the linchpin ministries at St. Peter's is the gathering of our Anglican Church Women (ACW).
Any woman that attends St. Peter's is welcome to attend any of our meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from September through June.  The ACW is responsible for organizing both our Christmas Bazaar and our Strawberry Social. Additionally, the ACW routinely hosts guest speakers at St. Peter's which speak on various topics of relevance to the community of St. Peter's.
