Welcome
to St. Peter's
We are an Anglican Church that seeks to serve God and make disciples in the areas of West Kingston and Loyalist Township.
What to Expect?
Whether it is your first time at St. Peter's Anglican Church, or you have been coming for your whole life, its nice to have a place where you can find out about what is happening and what to expect at St. Peter's.
Below is a brief description of what you can expect if you attend one of our services, and what ministries or programs we offer at our church throughout the week.
Church Services
Sunday
Our Sunday Service begins at 10am. Our church bell rings 5 minutes prior to the service beginning. Upon entering the front doors of the church, you will arrive in our lobby. Feel free to utilize our coat room, if necessary, before entering our worship space through the double doors to the right of the lobby. Feel free to sit anywhere, as there are no assigned seats in our church. The service begins after the weekly announcements.
Our service is taken from the Anglican Book of Alternative Services (BAS). You can either follow along as the service is projected onto our screen at the front, or you can follow along in the books located in the pews. Feel free to be as involved as you would like, or simply observe and take it all in. An offering is collected prior to communion, but giving is not required by those who attend. Giving is how we show gratitude to God for all he has given us. Those that call St. Peter's home give back to God from what he has given us, so we can continue our participation in his ongoing Kingdom work through St. Peter's. Services are usually 60-75 minutes long.

We offer a children's Sunday School during the service for children 12 and under. After the processional hymn (the first song of the service) children are invited to gather at the front for a brief teaching moment. After we pray for the children, the congregation sings "Jesus Loves Me" at which point the children are led downstairs to our Sunday School area by our volunteers. All children's ministry volunteers have had police checks in keeping with diocesan regulations.

After our service, we generally gather in our meeting hall located in our basement for light snacks and refreshments. All are welcome.
Wednesday
Our Wednesday service is a traditional Book of Common Prayer (BCP) Communion Service. Copies of the BCP are located by the entrance to the chapel, along with a print out of any necessary liturgical information relevant to the service that day. The service begins at noon and usually lasts 30-40 minutes. No children's programming for this service.
Ministries and Programs
Sunday School
On Sundays, during our 10am worship service, children 12 and under are invited to participate in our Sunday School program. Children begin the service with the rest of the church community and are invited to gather after the first hymn for a children's talk, usually pertaining to the readings of that day (children are also welcome to stay with their parents if they are uncomfortable coming forward). After the brief teaching, we sing Jesus loves me, as the children exit and head downstair to our Sunday School space. There, children will continue in a time of learning and playing with our volunteers before joining the rest of the community for Holy Communion. After communion, the children usually return back downstairs for a light snack before the rest of the congregation is dismissed to coffee time. All our volunteers for childrens ministry have had police checks in keeping with diocesan standards of care.
